From my experiences so far, I’ve learned that research isn’t really just about testing and reporting findings. A well-versed researcher helps craft a vision, and gain buy-in for their direction and work. They have to place an emphasis on the "we", and co-create research with the design team by involving their input. By giving everyone a stake in the research, they are more likely to reflect its value in their work.
I am a fourth year International Relations student at the University of British Columbia. I’m originally from Vancouver, but I’ve had my fair share of overseas experiences that include working in cities such as Hong Kong, and Toronto. My studies and work experiences have given me the opportunity to apply design thinking both abroad and in the sphere of global development.
